Sail Amsterdam 2010 From 19 - 23 August, the 8th edition of Sail Amsterdam is organised in Amsterdam. On 19th August it started with the SAIL-IN parade. Tall ships, naval ships, yachts and replicas sailed in formation from IJmuiden to Amsterdam through the North Sea Canal.

Marco Polo cruise - day 11 and 12 Marco Polo called at Honfleur, France on Quatorze Juillet, France's National Holiday. At 15.30 we departed for the final leg of this cruise, Tilbury. That became a long day with waiting for the transfer to the airport, waiting for the aircraft and waiting for our transfer to our home.

Marco Polo cruise - day 9 and 10 On 12th July, Marco Polo dropped anchor at St Mary's, Scilly Isles. We enjoyed an excursion to the Tresco Abbey Gardens. On 13th we called at St Peter Port, Guernsey.

Marco Polo cruise - day 7 and 8 From Tobermory we sailed through the Irish Sea and arrived on 10th July in Dublin, Republic of Ireland.

Marco Polo cruise - day 5 and 6 On 8 July it was scheduled to arrive at Stornoway, Outer Hebrides. However, due to high winds and rough seas, it was impossible to operate the tender service in a safe way. Marco Polo did not drop anchor and tried to find an alternative by sailing to Portree on the Isle of Sky. Unfortunately, also at Portree it was not possible to operate tender service in a safe way.
